On 15th June 2026, RefugeeLINK visited Stanbic Business Incubator, at their offices, for the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding. The MOU establishes a formal collaborative framework to support refugee economic empowerment through structured business development services, access to financial services, and market linkages.
The engagement also provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the progress already made through our partnership, particularly in promoting financial inclusion, entrepreneurship development, business formalization, and access to financial services for refugee-led enterprises. We were encouraged to hear positive feedback on the growing number of refugees opening bank accounts, participating in business development programmes, and taking steps toward building sustainable livelihoods.
Discussions further explored opportunities to strengthen support systems for refugee entrepreneurs through business clinics, savings groups, financial literacy initiatives, mentorship, and improved access to services such as TIN registration and digital financial platforms. Particular attention was given to addressing barriers that refugees continue to face in accessing and validating financial services, with both organizations reaffirming their commitment to finding practical solutions.
We are grateful to the Stanbic Business Incubator team for their continued partnership, openness, and dedication to creating inclusive pathways for entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. As refugee-led businesses continue to grow and mature, collaborative efforts such as these remain critical in ensuring that no entrepreneur is left behind.
At RefugeeLINK, we remain committed to working alongside partners who share our vision of empowering refugees to thrive, contribute to local economies, and build resilient futures for themselves and their communities.
